Corrections Policy

First published: 25 January 2025 Last updated: 16 August 2026

Little Money Matters is committed to accuracy and transparency. Because market data, platform fees, tax rules, and regulations change over time, this page explains how we handle both factual corrections and routine content updates.

Our Commitment

Financial content carries real consequences for readers, so we take accuracy seriously. When we identify — or are informed of — an error in a published article, we review it promptly and take appropriate action, as outlined below.

Types of Changes We Make

Corrections. A correction addresses a factual error — such as an incorrect rate, statistic, fee figure, or misstatement of fact or regulation. When a correction is made:

  • The article is updated to reflect the accurate information
  • A brief correction note may be added to the article indicating what was changed and when, where appropriate
  • The "Last updated" date at the top of the article is revised to reflect the correction

Updates. An update reflects newer information becoming available — for example, refreshed rate or fee figures, a change to a tax-advantaged account's contribution limits, or a shift in regulatory guidance since original publication. Updates do not necessarily indicate that the original content was wrong at the time it was published, only that circumstances have since changed.

  • The article is revised to reflect current information
  • The "Last updated" date is revised accordingly

Minor edits. Small edits for clarity, grammar, or formatting may be made without a formal notice, as these do not affect the substance or accuracy of the article.

How We Learn About Errors

Errors may be identified through our own editorial review process or flagged to us by readers. If you believe an article contains inaccurate or outdated information, please let us know via our Contact page. Please include the article title or link and a description of the issue so we can review it promptly.

Our Review Process

When a potential error is reported:

  1. We review the claim against current, credible sources, consistent with our Editorial Policy
  2. If an error is confirmed, we correct the article and update the relevant dates and, where appropriate, add a correction note
  3. If the reported issue reflects a difference of interpretation rather than a factual error, we will consider it but may retain the original content with additional context added for clarity

Article Dating

Every page and article on Little Money Matters displays both a "First published" date and a "Last updated" date, so readers can always see how current the information is. Because rates, fees, and market conditions shift frequently, we encourage readers to treat the "Last updated" date as a signal to verify time-sensitive figures directly with a platform, brokerage, or official source.
